Curtis Doucette, Jr. has established a track record of quality, consistency and resilience in affordable housing in Louisiana. Since his first acquisition in 2002, he has continued to acquire, restore and manage affordable rental properties to build his current portfolio to 41 units in the state, including 24 units in 7 properties in New Orleans and a 17-unit complex in Shreveport.

As an owner-operator, Mr. Doucette has consistently provided housing to low- and moderate income individuals and families, both assisted and unassisted. He has experience working with the Housing Choice Voucher program (Section 8), Unity of Greater New Orleans, Disaster Housing Assistance Program (DHAP), Catholic Charities, and other rental assistance programs.

Mr. Doucette holds a B.A. in Communications from Dillard University and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. The latter education comprised valuable work on design, construction management, real estate law and finance. For his consistent efforts and entrepreneurial vision in the field of independent affordable housing finance, management and development, Mr. Doucette was recognized with the Hank Bell Entrepreneurial Award upon graduation.

Mr. Gilen’s experience includes ground-up development of both affordable and market- rate housing with Gilen Residential Projects (based in Belgium), which has built over 2,000 housing units in its 38 years of existence. In his capacity as Financial Director, he oversaw the development of over 200 housing units in projects ranging from single-family to 60-unit developments, most of which in affordable and market homeownership. In the United States, he has extensive experience with various affordable housing subsidy programs and public RFP processes.

Mr. Gilen holds a B.S. in Managerial Economics from Bentley University and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, where he was awarded the post- graduate William Kinne Fellows Traveling Prize in recognition of his work on titling and affordable homeownership policy in Brazil.

Ms Hoffman is an architect-developer with extensive experience in residential and hospitality development. As a veteran designer with Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo (WATG), Ms Hoffman collaborated on multi-million dollar contracts with some of the world’s premier hospitality companies, such as Starwood, Intercontinental, Four Seasons, Hilton Conrad and Taj Hotels. Beyond her mastery of floor plan, layout and community space design, she brings valuable expertise in project management, master planning and material selection to the Iris Development team. Additionally, Ms Hoffman’s contemporary design philosophy solidifies Iris’ commitment to the creation of high-quality, well-designed and progressive living spaces.

In 2012, Ms Hoffman entered and placed among the top four finalists out of 139 teams nationwide in the Urban Land Institute’s annual Gerald D. Hines Urban Design Competition, providing a comprehensive development plan for the 16-acre Downtown Post Office site in Houston, TX. Ms Hoffman, who is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, holds a B.A. in Architectural Studies from University of Washington Seattle and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
